Calpine Corporation proposed to build an 850 MW combined-cycle gas turbine electric generation facility, with a capability of providing peaking capability up to 1100 MW. The Board certificated this application on January 28, 2002. The project assets have been transferred from Calpine to CME – Energy’s affiliate, Ironton Energy Center, LLC. On November 20, 2006, the Board approved a request to transfer the certificate to Ironton Energy Center, LLC and extended the latest date for commencement of construction to July 31, 2009. On July 13, 2009, the Board extended the latest date for commencement of construction to July 31, 2010.
