The applicant proposed to build a 1240 MW combined-cycle (gas/steam turbines) generating facility in Hamilton Township, Lawrence County.  The project will use four GE 7FA combustion turbines, and two steam turbines.  The facility will operate on natural gas only.  The required cooling water will come from the Ohio River.

The public informational meeting was held at the Rock Hill Elementary School #4, on February 15, 2001.  The application was received February 28, 2001 and the Staff Report was filed on July 2, 2001.  The Public Hearing was held on July 17, 2001 at the same location, and the Adjudicatory Hearing was held on July 18, 2001.  The project was approved by the Board on September 17, 2001.  The facility became operational in the early summer of 2003.
