Lima Energy Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Energy in Cincinnati, Ohio, proposed to build a 580 MW base load plant in Lima, Ohio. The application was filed on July 25, 2000 and the Board certificated the project on May 20, 2002. An amendment revising the gasifier technology, accompanying equipment and gasifier feedstock was approved by the Board on November 22, 2004 (Case No. 04-1011-EL-BGA). Construction of the facility began in November of 2005. Construction of the coal storage facility foundation and flooring has been completed, and demolition of previously existing structures has taken place. The Applicant is currently pursuing financing alternatives.
