The Dayton Power and Light Company proposed to build a new 345 kV circuit between Foster (South-central Warren County) and Bath (North-western Greene County) Substations. The new transmission line was required to serve the load growth and to maintain system reliability in the area.
The project was approved on May 12, 2000.
The new transmission line is 40 miles in length and uses the existing 345 kV right-of-way. The existing towers were removed and double circuit steel poles were installed to accommodate the second circuit. The exising 345 kV circuit was taken out of service while the new circuit was being installed.
The new circuit was energized the latter part of May 2001.
