The project involves the installation of five 85 MW combustion turbines with combined cycle capability, a total generating capacity of 575 MW, at Ohio Edison's West Lorain Plant in Lorain County.
The application was filed on June 16, 1999. The Staff Report, which recommended only the simple cycle section of the project (425 MW), was filed on January 25, 2000. The Public Hearing was held on February 9, 2000 and the adjudicatory hearing commenced on February 10, 2000.
The Board certificated the project, 425 MW, on April 17, 2000. The facility was placed in service in June 2001.
