Columbus Southern Power Company and Ohio Power Company (referred to jointly as AEP-Ohio) proposed to construct the Great Bend IGCC Project. This project involves the installation of a new integrated gasification combined cycle electric generating station. The Applicant filed their application on March 24, 2006. The Staff filed its staff report on November 27, 2006. A public hearing was held on December 12, 2006 at the Meigs High School in Pomeroy, OH. The adjudicatory hearing was convened on December 14, 2006 and continued until January 30, 2007, at which point it was again continued. On March 9, 2007, the parties filed a stipulation resolving all issues in this proceeding. The Board granted approval for the project on April 23, 2007.
