This proposed project involves the construction of a new 960 MW electric generating facility in Meigs County. A public informational meeting was held on December 5, 2006. The application was filed on May 4, 2007, and supplemented with additional information on June 11, 2007 and June 19, 2007. The staff report was filed on October 16, 2007. The Public Hearing was held in Meigs County on November 1, 2007, with approximately 150 people in attendance. Adjudicatory hearings were held during the period of December 11, 2007, through January 4, 2008. Post-hearing briefs were filed January 28, 2008, and reply briefs were filed February 8, 2008. The Board issued a certificate for the facility on March 3, 2008. A request for rehearing was filed by Citizen Groups on April 2, 2008 and the request was denied by the Board on April 28, 2008. The Board granted modification to certain certificate conditions on July 13, 2009.
