COLUMBUS, OHIO (June 23, 2017) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has cancelled the two hearings previously scheduled for AEP Ohio Transmission Company’s (AEP Ohio Transco) proposal to rebuild an electric transmission line in Belmont County. The OPSB will reschedule the hearings at a later date.
The cancellations include the local public hearing scheduled for 6 p.m. on July 10, 2017, at Bellaire High School, 349 35th Street, Bellaire, Ohio 43906 and the adjudicatory hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 20, 2017, at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Hearing Room 11?C, 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
The proposed West Bellaire-Glencoe 138 kilovolt (kV) transmission line rebuild project involves the upgrade of approximately 6 miles of existing 69 kV transmission line to 69/138 kV in Pultney, Richland, and Smith townships. AEP Ohio Transco states that the project would help ensure the continued reliability of the area transmission system.
The OPSB cancelled the hearings in response to a request from AEP Ohio Transco to allow the company additional time to supplement its proposal. The supplemental information relates to certain engineering adjustments regarding how the proposed transmission line would be configured and constructed.
Additional information regarding the proposed transmission line rebuild is available on the OPSB website at www.OPSB.ohio.gov in case number 16-1557-EL-BTX.
