Welcome to the Ohio Power Siting Board. Our mission is to support sound energy policies that provide for the installation of energy capacity and transmission infrastructure for the benefit of the Ohio citizens, promoting the state's economic interests, and protecting the environment and land use. The Ohio Power Siting Board generally meets on the third Monday of each month.
The Board is authorized to issue certificates of environmental compatibility and public need for the construction, operation, and maintenance of major utility facilities as defined in ORC Section 4906.01. Included within this definition are:
