OPSB sets public hearing for new substation in Cuyahoga County

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Sept. 26, 2012) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) will hold a public hearing in Cleveland, Ohio to provide area residents an opportunity to testify about American Transmission Systems, Inc.’s (ATSI) proposal to construct the Clinic Substation in Cuyahoga County.

The local public hearing is scheduled for:

A subsidiary of FirstEnergy, ATSI plans to construct a new 138 kilovolt transmission switching substation for the Cleveland Clinic.  This project will provide increased electrical reliability and support load growth for the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus.  Both the preferred and alternate sites are currently used as parking lots and are owned by the hospital.

The adjudicatory hearing in this case will begin on Nov. 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, 180 East Broad Street, Hearing Room 11-D, Columbus, Ohio 43215-3793.
