The project would add approximately 10 miles of new 138 kV electric transmission line between the Chamberlin Substation in Twinsburg and the Shalersville Substation in Streetsboro. Approximately 7.4 miles of the proposed line would be installed using the open arm of existing towers. This portion of the line would be designed and constructed for 345 kV use, but initially operated at 138 kV. The remaining sections would require new structures, which would be designed and constructed for 138 kV operation. The application was filed on April 6, 2009. The Chairman declared that the application was deemed complete on June 4, 2009. A local public hearing was held on October 27, 2009, and the adjudicatory hearing commenced on November 2, 2009. The application was certificated by the Board on March 22, 2010. On Sept. 30, 2013, the Board approved ATSI's request to withdraw the certifcate.
