OPSB postpones Geauga County public hearings
COLUMBUS, OHIO (May 8, 2007) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) today cancelled local public hearings scheduled for Monday, May 12 in Thompson and Tuesday, May 13 in Huntsburg regarding American Transmission Systems, Inc.’s (ATSI) application to construct a 138 kilovolt electric transmission line in Geauga County.
The Board’s attorney law judge postponed the hearings to provide ATSI with additional time to evaluate potential transmission line route segments along the Maple Highlands Bike Trail and an abandoned railroad corridor in the city of Chardon.
The hearings will be rescheduled at a later date to give local residents an opportunity to express their views regarding ATSI’s application.
More information regarding the proposed transmission line is available at www.opsb.ohio.gov.
