OPSB schedules local hearing for proposed Columbiana County power plant
COLUMBUS, OHIO (April 1, 2016) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) will hold a public hearing to provide area residents an opportunity to testify about South Field Energy, LLC’s proposal to construct a new electric generating facility and related transmission infrastructure in Columbiana County. The 1,100 megawatt natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility would be located in Yellow Creek Township, approximately 3 miles northwest of the village of Wellsville. South Field Energy also plans to construct a 3-mile long 345 kilovolt electric transmission line and associated switching station that would interconnect the generation facility to an existing FirstEnergy transmission circuit.

June 6, 2016 at 6 p.m.

The adjudicatory hearing will begin at 10 a.m. on June 21, 2016 at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, hearing room 11-D, 180 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
