OPSB schedules local hearing for proposed Guernsey County power plant

COLUMBUS, OHIO (June 1, 2017) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) will hold a hearing to allow the public to express their views about Guernsey Power Station, LLC’s proposal to construct a new electric generating facility in Guernsey County. The local public hearing is scheduled as follows:

The proposed 1,650 megawatt natural gas-fired, combined cycle facility would be located in Valley Township. The facility would be fueled by natural gas from one or more pipelines and would interconnect to a 765 kilovolt electric transmission line located on the proposed facility site. Guernsey Power Station would like to begin construction of the project in the first quarter of 2018 and begin commercial operation by the third quarter of 2020.

The adjudicatory hearing will begin at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23, 2017 at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Hearing Room 11-D, 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
