COLUMBUS, OHIO (Sept. 24, 2012) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) will hold a public hearing in Swanton, Ohio to provide area residents an opportunity to testify about American Transmission Systems, Inc.’s (ATSI) proposal to construct the Fulton Substation in Fulton County.

A subsidiary of FirstEnergy, ATSI plans to construct a 345 kilovolt (kV) to 138 kV transmission substation to comply with system reliability planning criteria. ATSI has proposed locating the substation near Interstate 80/90 and both the preferred and alternate sites, which are adjacent to each other, are surrounded by agricultural land. The proposed substation yard would be 370 feet wide by 470 feet long and enclosed by a fence
The adjudicatory hearing in this case will begin on Nov. 26, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, 180 East Broad Street, Hearing Room 11-C, Columbus, Ohio 43215-3793.
